Deb Felz Band
About The Deb Felz Band

Deb Felz's ability to convey thoughtful, poignant ideas in a catchy and lively musical form stems from a lifetime passion for songwriting and music. The Washington, D.C.-based (and Chicago-bred) singer-songwriter emphasizes creative lyrics and acoustic melodies. Her music is reminiscent of a diverse group of artists such as Alanis Morrisette, Counting Crows, Jack Johnson and the Daphne Willis, while still containing a unique flavor that is all her own. Her heartfelt alto voice drives her soulful and powerful lyrics home. This vibrant young artist is quickly becoming a force on the East Coast stage.

Josh Klein (keyboards and backup vocals) grew up playing classical piano, and has found that the technique and theory that he learned through that education help to elevate and expand Deb Felz's acoustic sound. He played trumpet in middle school, and later performed extensively while playing chamber music for Brandeis University as part of its Ensemble-in-Residence program. Josh loves to sing, and can be found playing guitar, ukelele, hand-drum, harmonica, ocarina, iPhone, and iPad (yes, those are instruments, as he will happily demostrate).

Dan Kapner (percussion and second guitar) was first introduced to the cajon while visiting flamenco bars in Spain and London. He found the unique percussive sound to be a perfect complement to Deb Felz's soulful music. Dan began performing in middle school while training as a classical guitarist and played guitar for the critically-acclaimed punk band, The Unorthodix, in high school. He has continued to perform in the indie, alt-country, flamenco, Spanish classical, and singer-songwriter genres. He plays the cajon, guitar, mandolin, bass, mandobass, and tambourine.
